About the school

ISE Hove was established in 2006. The school is one of the fastest growing schools in Hove. The school has a lovely mix of nationalities, 65% from Europe, 35% from outside Europe. They have classes of all levels, all year round, from Absolute Beginner to Upper Advanced. The school is accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English.

Hove is one of the most exciting cities in the UK and there are loads of activities and fun things to do all year round. No matter what your interest is there is something for you here! The school has an arts festival in May, a comedy festival in October, large scale concerts and free events every weekend in Summer and hundreds of bands, DJ’s, theatre groups and other artists visiting the town. With hundreds of pubs, 400 restaurants and many live venues you will never be bored in Hove. The school has an activity programme arranged every week to help students make the most of their time here plus scheduled visits to London and other cities every weekend.

The Young ISE lessons are full of activities where you use and practice English. The experienced and student-focused teachers make sure lessons are exciting and fun. Students study every morning from 9:15 to 12:30, with a short break, usually around 11:00, for 15 minutes. Students will also receive homework to be completed for the next day. The teaching staff is carefully selected. They work to develop each student's English Language to the best of their abilities, using a range of communicative classroom techniques. ISE is a specialist teacher-training centre offering the University of Cambridge YL extension, one of the only 3 schools in the UK that run this programme. At ISE your child could be selected to participate in the YL extension course at no extra charge. Activities include Cinema, Ten Pin Bowling, Swimming (Sea and Pool), Climbing, Racketball, Treasure Hunt, Ghost Walk, Dance Workshop (Hip Hop and Salsa), Horse Riding, Sea Fishing, Raft Building (& Testing!), Sea Canoeing, River Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Beach Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Tennis, Kung Fu, Pottery Class, Evening Disco, Team Frisbee, Rounders/Baseball and Park Olympics.
