General Terms and Conditions

The language travel services offered by can only be used by customers who have first read these general terms and conditions and accepted them unconditionally by clicking on the appropriate box provided for the purpose. It is not possible to proceed with the booking process without this acceptance.

Article 1: Definitions and scope

1.1 Definitions
The following definitions enter into the general terms and conditions for booking:

A person who books one or more language travel services offered on the Website.

Language travel services
The services offered on the website, such as the booking of courses, accommodation services, transport services.
Means HowJdo AS.

HowJdo AS
Company incorporated and resident for all purposes in Norway. Headquarters: Bogstadveien 27B, 0355 Oslo. Company number: 998 666 317.

Service provider
A supplier of Language travel services, such as a language school, accommodation, taxi company, insurance provider.

The total Language travel services chosen by the customer such as course, accommodation, transport.

Programme price
Total programme price including any fees charged by the service provider.


1.2 Scope
These general terms and conditions apply to offering and providing of the Language travel services by operates the website which acts as an interface between the customer and the various service providers offering the Language travel services.

These general terms and conditions are subject to the service providers special terms and conditions which are made available to the customer and which the customer also accepts at the moment that a booking is actually placed. It is the customers responsibility to familiarise himself/herself with the service providers special terms & conditions.

Article 2: Booking via website

2.1 The Customers legal authority
The Customer must be at least 18 years old, be legally authorised to enter into contractual obligations, have the requisite consent or authority to act for or on behalf of any persons included in a booking and must use the website in accordance with these general terms and conditions and the website terms of use.

2.2 Booking confirmation
Confirmation by of booking made by the customer will depend on availability of the language travel services and acceptance from service providers. Service providers do not have to give reasons for refusing to accept a booking.

Confirmation is formalised by sending a confirmation by e-mail, standard within 48 hours (mon-fri), but maximum ten days of a booking being placed by the customer. No amount will be charged to the customer until the time of confirmation by the service provider(s) of the availability of the service.

2.3 Cancellation and refund policy
All requests will be dealt with on behalf of the service providers concerned. Cancellation can be made by email to will not impose its own standard administration fee in the event of a cancellation or change. However, a fee may still be imposed by the applicable service provider. Please refer to the terms and conditions notified in the booking process for more details.

In all cases the minimum cancellation terms are as follows:

  • The registration fee and the accommodation fee are non-refundable
  • No refund after programme start
  • Irrespective of the time the cancellation is received, the service providers reserve the right to invoice the fees for booked services for accommodation and/or board in addition to the administration fee, either in part or to the full extent.
  • In some cases, compensation for cancellation payable to the applicable service provider can amount to the full value of language travel service booked, so that no reimbursement to the customer is made.
2.4 Visa cannot apply for visas on behalf of customers. However, can supply customers with all the documentation they need from the language centre as part of the application, including a letter of acceptance and a receipt of payment of fees. It can often take some time to obtain a visa, so customers are advised to apply in plenty of time. The customer is responsible for complying with all such requirements needed for the implementation of the language travel. is not responsible for the timely provision or receipt of the necessary visas and documents. To deliver the required visa documents language centres may charge an additional courier delivery fee for courses booked on short notice before the start of the course.

Article 3: Language travel services

3.1 General language travel services
The following Language travel services and fees can be found on the website:

  • Registration fee: An administration fee charged by the service provider.
  • Course fee: Depends on type, length, season and destination.
Accommodation (optional):
  • Accommodation finding fee: An administration fee charged by the service provider.
  • Accommodation fee: Depends on type, length, season and destination.
  • Possible extra nights: Please ask customer support.
Airport Pick up service (optional):
  • Transport price: Depends on airport and type e.g. single or round-trip ticket
3.2 Language travel service: Course
The special terms and conditions may include restrictions on and/or charges for cancellation and/or changes imposed by the service providers.

Welcoming letter
After confirmation by email the customer will receive a welcoming letter during 1-2 weeks.

Unless otherwise specified the classes are held from Monday to Friday. Lesson duration varies from 40-60 minutes (dependents on service provider).

The course schedule is normally including breaks during the day.

Cancellation of course
In case the minimum group size for a course is not reached, the service provider reserves the right to give a reduced number of individual/minigroup classes instead of the booked group class.

Placement test
The student will take a placement test upon arrival or an online test a few weeks before programme start, which determines the level.

Public Holydays
In the event of Public Holyday in the host country, the Language centre will be closed, unless otherwise stated in the course information sent to the customer. Classes missed for a Public Holyday will not be made up at a later date.

Cancellation of social activities
It is possible that, from time to time particular activities offered by the service provider that are shown on the website are cancelled, for example as a result of weather conditions or force majeure, during out-of-season stays, or if the required number of participants for the activity is not achieved.

3.3 Language travel service: Accommodation
Accommodation is only offered as part of a course. The services are subject to the special terms and conditions of the suppliers offering the accommodation. The special terms and conditions may include restrictions on and/or charges for cancellation and/or changes imposed by the suppliers.

Arrival and departure
Accommodation is reserved from Sunday before the course starts until the Saturday the day after last course day, unless the customer is informed otherwise. The customer is reminded that, in general, rooms are only available from 14.00 and have to be vacated by 12.00, irrespective of the time of arrival or departure or the means of transport used.

Double room
Double room is only possible for two people booking together (price per student).

Host family
The host family can be either a family in the classical sense, or an individual person or a single parent. Student will receive details of their host family address at least 5 days before the programme start.

3.4 Language travel service: Airport pick up
During the booking, the customer can choose a pick up service from/to the Airport. This fee covers the cost of administration, communication, greeting service and transportation.

A language centre representative meets the customer at the selected airport. The transportation service is offered between 7.00 and 21.00, local time on Sundays. If the customer arrives at any other time, it can be arranged for an additional cost.

3.5 Language travel service: Travel and Medical Insurance strongly recommends that customers purchase insurance. We have negotiated favorable premiums for our customers with an international insurance company expert in travel insurance. The policy protects the customers against expenses incurred through accident or illness, and provides coverage for loss or theft of baggage and personal effects. It also provides coverage against interruption of course due to illness.

3.6 Additional Language travel services
The following Language travel services are not included in the programme price:

  • Travel from home country to language centre (unless otherwise specified)
  • Accommodation (unless otherwise specified)
  • Course materials/course books (unless otherwise specified)
  • Transfer from airport to accommodation (please book arrival transfer)
  • Travel and Medical Insurance (unless otherwise specified)
  • Internet in accommodation is not guaranteed
  • Official language exam testing fees (i.e. IELTS, TOEFL etc.)
  • Some activities and most excursions require a participation fee. Prices vary depending on type of activity and excursion.

Article 4: Financial conditions

4.1 Payment conditions and prices
The price of language travel services booked on the website must be paid either to which will accept such payments on behalf of the service providers. The programme fee can be paid by credit card or by direct transfer from customers bank. The prices of the language travel services shown on the website are expressed in NOK.

The price of the language travel services will be as quoted on the website from time to time, except in cases of obvious error. Prices are liable to change at any time, but changes will not affect bookings already accepted except by Despite HowJdo.coms best efforts, some of the language travel services listed on the website may be incorrectly priced and is under no obligation to provide language travel services to a customer at an incorrect price, even after customers have been sent confirmation of their booking.

4.2 Tax recovery charge and local taxes
The tax charge on transactions where is the merchant is a recovery of all applicable transaction taxes (e.g. room tax, excise tax, value added tax, etc.) that pays to the service providers in connection with customers bookings. is not the vendor collecting and remitting said tax to the applicable tax authorities. The service providers bill all applicable taxes to remits such tax directly to the service providers. is not a co-vendor associated with the service providers with whom we book our customers language travel arrangements.

Unless specified otherwise in the special terms and conditions, the prices of the language travel services shown on the website are excluding local taxes imposed by the authorities in some countries.

Article 5: Final Provisions

5.1 Liability
The customer accepts that given that acts as an interface between the customer and the service providers, will under no circumstances be held liable with respect to services the customer has booked with one or more service providers.

5.2 Disclaimer
Except as expressly set out in these general terms and conditions, all representations, warranties, terms and conditions whether express or implied in relation to this website or the information contained therein are hereby excluded to the fullest extent permitted by laws of Norway.

5.3 Force majeure
Every instance of force majeure, including the interruption of means of communication or a strike by service providers will lead to the suspension of the obligations in these General Terms and Conditions that are affected by the force majeure event and the party affected by the force majeure event shall not be liable as a result of the inability to meet such obligations.

These general terms and conditions for booking come into force on 1st February 2015.
